Estimates
We ask for a fax of the design and a detailed description of the job when requesting an estimate. Every job is unique and needs attention to the following details: – name of job – final count of each piece – number and size of each piece – number of colors per piece – total number of colors – paper choice for each piece – can art be kept away from trim by half an inch? – when does job need to be completed?
Submitting artwork
After an estimate is approved, you can deliver your job on a disk or film. The following specifications are required if you are providing film: – negative – emulsion up – right reading – minimum density of 4.0 – any opaquing must be done on the base side
File preparation
Sometimes you can create a digital file with a different layout to save film and plate costs. Unlike offset printing plates, photopolymer plate material is expensive, and is made only for the area printed. We do not need crop marks on the film of those pieces where we are printing on stock already cut to size. If you want to take the time, type and art can often be ganged together on a single page for film output.
